Despite a lot of rain on Saturday, we’ve gotten everything moved into the new house, and the large majority of it unpacked. There is still some stuff left at my in-laws house but we’re gonna try to get it this coming weekend.

If all goes well, construction on the house should finish on Friday. It’s taken a while to get to this point, but the end is in sight.

You know that thing where there was something you wanted to remember to do, pick up your phone to enter it in your task manager of choice, get distracted before you capture what you wanted to remember, and then forgot what you wanted to remember. That thing sucks.

My 4 yr old was excited to have some “Daddy-Alistair time” this evening. We played at the park, had “don-don lunch” (McDonald’s), and let him get a toy. A very enjoyable evening.

It’s been a long time since I’ve written a pen review on my blog. Here is my latest, a look at the Tactile Turn Mover and Shaker.

I doubt I get to watch the Final Four Games tomorrow, but I want to see Loyola win. 🏀

I have moved Pens and Planes to Blot.im

Airport Sunrise

Sunrise from the Opa Locka, Florida airport (KOPF), which is a few miles north of Miami.

My wife and I started The Man in the High Castle this week and we are hooked. One episode left in season 1 and then on to season 2.

Checkride tomorrow and then I will be finished with recurrent training for another 6 months.

I’ve been enjoying using Things again after the v3.4 update, especially after getting some workflows and Drafts actions for adding tasks and projects. I love being able to type out multiple tasks for different projects in Drafts and have them all created in one pass to Things.

I’m registering my son for kindergarten later this morning. Time does indeed fly-by quickly when you have children.

I have now been to—or at least traveled through a portion of—all the lower 48 U.S. states. Kansas is the only state where I haven’t been to a city, just traveled through.

Kennedy Space Center

Here’s a couple photos of Kennedy Space Center from a few weeks ago. I took these about a week before the Falcon Heavy launch, so I’m pretty sure it’s on one of the launch pads in the background.

Apple Park

Flew over Apple Park on approach to Mountain View/Moffett Federal Airfield (KNUQ.) I cropped one of the photos to get a good look inside.

Refueling Flight

These aren’t exactly travel photos, but photos of one of the coolest things I’ve ever gotten the opportunity to do. Back when I was flight instructing, we got a call out of the blue from somebody from the nearby Air Force Base asking if we could do a flight for an actor that was in town for an event at the base and we said yes. After the flight, the gentleman from the Air Force Base told me he had set me up on an incentive flight on a refueling flight.
